Heating loss Tuesday 17th

Heating loss on Tuesday 17th.  In the Brentford Dock Newsletter October/November 2017 it was written:

“Engineers were on site first thing in the morning of the 17th and heat was quickly restored.

However, it appears that the problem was with the main gas supply into the Estate and not due to any failing of our plant or equipment as these were all working well and no faults were found.

Hopefully no -one experienced ice cold baths!”

Residents contacted Cadent, gas suppliers to the Brentford area and Brentford Dock soon after receipt of the newsletter.  The Cadent employee checked their system and stated that there were no outages of a residential or commercial nature in either the Brentford area or to the supply to Brentford Dock.  There were no outages or works being carried out. Cadent also stated that had there been an outage, the Brentford Dock boilers and the supply to residents’ properties would have equally been affected.

It is known that residents with gas hobs were able to use them to make breakfast and to heat water for their tea and coffee.  Residents are also known to have experienced ice cold water for their morning showers. Heating was not available until the late afternoon in some properties.

On that Tuesday morning a Numa Court resident of professional standing had spoken to a Brentford Dock security guard regarding the heating loss and was told that the main boiler was not working.

This would appear to contradict that which was written in the newsletter by the staff (John Antrobus, Michael Richards & Co, and Jonathan Wheeldon) in the Brentford Dock office.
